I adore tulips because of their turban shape (how they got their name), their fragility and the 3000 different varieties. They symbolize spring, rebirth and deep love. During the Victorian times the tulip stood for clarity. I carried them on my wedding day and paint a couple canvases a year of this spectacular flower. The prized tulip bulb has such a daunting history that it lead to the futures market of today. Quite a bouquet!
The Keukenhof Gardens called" The Garden of Europe" in Lisse, The Netherlands are so breathtakingly beautiful. Seventy million bulbs are planted annually. One of my favorite places in the world.
