When I found out about the story of Bertrand Farr his music talent and botany knowledge I decided to paint my peonies. Flowers have always been part of my daily life but in vases as part of our home more than subject matter. So, now we are living in his office built in 1911 Iris and peony bulbs were sold to people like Charlie Chaplin from this place. Last Spring I decided.. time to paint some peonies from my garden ode to BF.

John Singer Sargent's paintings with overflowing translucent peonies are so exquist like Cezanne peaches I kinda thought not sure I want to venture that artistic crossroad but here it is my first ready to show peony painting .. I bet there are more to follow. One of the great unfurling fragrant flowers that is here for 10 days and then is gone.
