Welcome to Jane Runyeon Works of Art
My artworks are expressionistic abstractions. Gestural lines, text, and splashing paint : instruments to expose the creative process: the adding, subtracting and editing . There is a language that has developed over a life time in the studio. I love the surprise and the anguish as the artwork develops. There are subjects I return to often including music, astronomy, Americana, seascapes and the landscapes. I live in Pennsylvania, "Penn's Woods", inspired by the forests, meadows and sky that change dramatically throughout the seasons. Scientific facts, places visited and libraries filled with books are also touch stones that spark my creativity . The titles are clues...propositions.
